Imaan Sattar and Yuxiu Xiong are an artist duo working with and through endurance across mediums, including sculpture, drawing and sound. Endurance brings about repetition and variation which is common in nondual practices across cultures. Through the intensive process of making that allow them access to the ever-changing planes of perception and the kaleidoscope of the ever-shifting multiplicity of things, they explore questions like: the (non)existence of free will and the idea of non-self, how from chaos there rises one and one to infinity, and how do things/objects exist not as individuals but systems that surround and be surrounded. They see their combined mind as a third mind that allows them access to wider collective imaginations.
Their projects are offsprings of these core questions, with each project spurring from impulses and trajectories unique to the chosen medium itself.
